My name is Kalaninui Akau and sole proprietor of Akau Media. I am Native Hawaiian, Japanese, Chinese, and French. I was born and raised on the island of Oahu. Graduated from Kamehameha Schools Kapalama in 2012. Learned videography and editing from Zoe Ann Tanaka from 2008-2010 with Olelo Television. I did a majority of the editing and videography for Kupuna Church for two years. My father taught me about media in regards to audio. I learned how to route signal for live sounds and events.
I graduated with an Associates Degree in Audio Engineering from the Music Entertainment Learning Experience at Honolulu Community College in 2018. Music is an integral part to any good video whether it is for real estate or music videos. Having a background in audio definitely in my opinion makes for a better video experience over all.
In 2016, I was blessed with a GoPro and started up my own youtube channel. In 2017, I bought my first DJI drone and continued making videos. In 2018, I studied hard and achieved my FAA Part 107 Drone License and decided it was time to start putting my drone and cameras to use.
I am partnered with several non-profits in regards to ocean conservation, youth outreach, and community building.
